Product Description
Mourvèdre is one of the classic grapes used in the Southern Rhone, Provence and Spain. Also called Mataro and Monastrell, it is commonly used in blends and can be aged many years. It is the “M” in GSM blends. When made as a stand-alone wine, it imparts aromas of black raspberry, garrigue herbs, peat, pepper, and gamey-ness. On the palate it can be bold and tannic while expanding the fruit profile into pomegranate, plum, and mulberry. Closing notes of spice box, cedar, and pepper linger on the finish of this rustic Mediterranean beauty.
